He’s cute, but definitely spoiled! When my mom got him from the shelter, they said he’d been living on the streets in downtown Houston. Not sure how he made it, but he did! ❤️

That’s wonderful. Shelter dogs can be the best.

He’s a hoot. My mom actually adopted him about 10 years ago. We live right next door and it’s fenced between us. A few months later, he decided to move in with us, and he’s been here ever since!

Thank you! One of our daughter’s friends called him that a few years ago, and we think it describes him perfectly! 🙂

JUST MY DOG
He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds;
My other ears that hear above the winds.
He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea.
He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being:
By the way he rests against my leg
By the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile
By the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him.
(I think it makes him sick with worry when he
is not along to care for me.)
When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive.
When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile.
When I am happy, he is joy unbounded.
When I am a fool, he ignores it.
When I succeed, he brags.
Without him, I am only another person. ,With him, I am all-powerful.
He is loyalty itself., He has taught me the meaning of devotion.
With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace.
He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant.
His head on my knee can heal my human hurts.
His presence by my side is protection against, my fears of dark and unknown things.
He has promised to wait for me…, whenever…wherever–in case I need him.
And I expect I will–as I always have.
He is just my dog.
(Author Gene Hill…)
Until we meet again..
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rains fall soft upon your fields
May green be the grass you walk on
May blue be the skies above you
May pure be the joys that surround you
May true be the hearts that love you.

Happy Sunday! Yes, we have 5 dogs (all strays) and they are part of our family for sure! Thank you for this poem. We lost one of babies in October, my husband’s BFF. I think this poem will help his hurting heart. Have a great day ❤️

You might wish to give him this poem also… 🙂
When tomorrow starts without me
And I’m not here to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
Filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things
We didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me
As much as I love you,
And each time you think of me
I know you’ll miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me
Don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me
I’m right there in your heart.
